Oh how I wish Olive could meet her great-grandmother’s. She is just like both of them in so many ways. She has her Nanny’s big, Crystal blue beautiful eyes and her Mawmaw’s charm and sweet, giving personality.
I wish they could have celebrated her second birthday with her. They would be so in love with her and her big brother.
My favorite way to remember them is to encorporate some of their belongings in my decor and give their pieces new life!
I got a LOT of questions asking for links to Olive’s birthday party outfit from this weekend. Sadly, I can’t link it for you but I can teach you how to easily make a replica… hopefully this helps…
I ordered this organic linen romper and these handmade rainbow tassels from Etsy.
My plan was to use my grandmother’s embroidered handkerchief on her outfit so I needed the outfit to have a large square space that I could stitch it to. Search for whatever works best for your project and whatever passed down item you have.
I then cut the handkerchief to the exact size of the square, chest portion of the romper and hand stitched it on.
(I had a little helper!)
If you look closely, you can see, the tassels came with metal rings attached to each one. I took all of them off and hand stitched each tassel, in the pattern I chose, around the handkerchief.
I think it turned out too stinkin’ cute and she LOVED it! It gave a sweet memory of her grandmother new life.
Thank you for reading!
As always, Love, Savannah. 🖤
